This painting was painted from a slide taken at the coast quite a few years ago. It was at the end of the day, the sun was about to set and there were many more people along the beach taking in the ocean air. With some artistic license, I decided to keep the two strollers and the remnant from hurricane Hugo in the foreground. I believe that I did improve it by changing the scene into one that was a bit more natural and private for a painting that fits it's title, "Solitude". I can recall the clean smell of that ocean today . . . I'd love to be there now.    Ray
