Ray’s original paintings can be found in many styles and his subject matter varies more than the styles in which he paints. That’s what 35 years of painting will do . . . not from the fumes of the paint but from the enormity of wonderful subjects found around us and the fun of applying paint to canvas. That is why he as begun to expand his acceptance of painting commissions. It gives a chance to explore new subject material and will be a refreshing addition to his repertoire. Representational scenes and still lifes are dominant in his body of work but sometimes they depart to detailed, ordinary items taken out of their everyday context and painted on plain color fields for emphasis. Ray occasionally paints nonobjective paintings which deal more with color, design and texture. These are ideal for the decor of contemporary dwellings and offices. And then there is that experimental piece which offers a new outlet for creativity and pleasure.

Some of these paintings are not framed, but made by stretching the canvas around the wood stretchers and stapled on the back. This we call a “wraparound” and the edge is painted black or the painting continues around the edges. It is made to be used with or without a frame.

To make things easy, we have introduced an installment plan for buying our original paintings. Once you start the first installment (check or money order), we will hold the painting of your choice for up to 12 months until you complete payment. See FAQ for details.

The Shipping & Handling charges for original paintings vary so much (size, distance, etc.) that we have found, to simplify the process, that if you Email us with your selection and shipping address we can get back to you with the correct S/H charges. You can then proceed by filling the order form with the total including the cost of the art and the S/H charges with one simple submission.

Paintings of 432 sq. in. and under generally are shipped via USPS Priority, insured. Larger sizes are shipped UPS.
